Breed Program

Spearhil's breed program is in its infancy & I am very excited about our future.

Our Weimaraner 'A' Litter have now all gone off to their new homes & planning for our Cocker Spaniel 'A' Litter has started.

Ideally we will choose a stud from proven working lines from breeders who historically through the generations have produced successful healthy dogs with excellent temperments who have bred for versatility in the field & temperment in the home.

When choosing our dogs for our breed program we look not just at the immediate breeders but also at the breeders of the dogs behind them for at least where possible their first three generations prior to considering them for our breed program with additional research going back several generations where possible. The choosen stud will be Optigen tested for PRA & FN or will be discounted from our list.

Ayla is historically from excellent working lines, she has a keen nose, is biddable & an excellent companion in the home something we would like to pass to her offspring.

Colours that she potentially carries are: Blue Roan, Black, Black & White we will look into having the colour range confirmed by DNA profiling.

If you are interested in a puppy from this potential litter and would like to add your name to our waiting list you are more than welcome. However the litter although planned will not be bred until 2009/2010 dependant upon the successful selection of a suitable stud & dependant upon health screening.

You can see information & photo's from our Weimaraner 'A' litter from 2008 on the links below. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me I am more than happy to help. For those interested in our next Weimaraner litter please note that this will not be considered until 2013 but in the meantime if you would like a recommendation for another litter please see the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain or the other club puppy lists for members litters. I am happy to help with any research or to offer a personal opinion.
